Limits
What the limits are
The four phases of one translation (sentence, segments, per-word detail, mined phrases) count as one translation, because you performed one action. A scan unit is one page, or twenty words, whichever is larger.

Straight answers
Can I try a paid plan before paying?
Yes. A new account gets fourteen days of Pro with no card. When the trial ends you return to Free without a charge, and keep everything you saved.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
You can switch or cancel at any time, from the billing portal on your account page. If you cancel, you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, then return to Free. Your saved words stay where they are.
Who handles my card?
Stripe handles the payment form, even though it opens on our page. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We store an identifier for your subscription and nothing else about the card.
What happens when I run out of translations?
Translating stops until the month turns over; nothing else does. Your vocabulary bank, your reviews and the reading aids all keep working. Moving to a higher plan raises the limit straight away, rather than at the start of the next month.
Do unused translations roll over?
No. The count starts again at the beginning of each month, in your own timezone.
Which languages do I get?
All ninety-seven, on every plan including Free. English, Italian, Japanese and Spanish have hand-written language profiles behind them. The picker marks every other one as Beta, so you know which you are using before you rely on it.
Why does translating need an account when the rest does not?
Because it is the one thing that costs us money per use, so it has to be counted against someone. The vocabulary bank and spaced review run entirely on your device and work signed out, offline, and for free.
